For those of you new to addiction... Quit while you're ahead! I had only been drinking for 3.5 years (im 22) and it was so hard to stop. It has been a journey but its been easier for me to quit now than if I'd stopped 20 years from now. Being sober is actually a lot cooler than I ever thought possible.
Thank you Delilah! I think the hardest part at this age is committing to the decision. I felt like I was going to lose so much... My coping mechanism, my friends, my lifestyle. Then I realized, after spending some time sober and admitting I was actually an alcoholic and not just a binge drinker, that I can do so much more with the energy I gain not drinking.
Also, I have struggled with depression my entire life. It's usually worst at this time of year but since getting sober in October... I've felt better than I have in the last four years. Drinking was making it so much worse and I had no idea!!!!!!!!!!
