I feel for you - I was the same way for the first few days, now on Day 8 I'm sleeping well and making up for all the sleep I lost initially. Try drinking camomile tea in the evenings.

Long time insomniac here ...... as in years ...... it was even worse for a year after I stopped drinking. I thought I would die from sleep deprivation. Obviously I didn't, and you won't either. The literature says one can't die from sleep deprivation ( although I had my serious doubts about that )....... I sleep much better now, although maybe still not quite like a " normie". Things I did: Cut back ( or out ) on sugar and caffeine products, Drank sleepy time tea, did meditation breathing and yoga postures for sleep, tried all organic and natural supplements for sleep ( melatonin helped me ), and read a LOT of books. Don't sleep during the day no matter how badly you want or need to..... but my best suggestion is don't fight it. The less I slept the more stressed I became and the more stress the less sleep...... endless circle. If I have a sleepless night now I just think " I'm not sleeping, so I will rest and read". Resting is good, too.

I'm not getting much sleep either - almost 3 weeks in and some nights are just LONG right!?

Ugh. Glad to know I'm not totally alone. Try for a nap today. Lol
