50mission, welcome to this forum. It's helped me tremendously to see people in the same boat as I am. I have managed to stay sober for three weeks. However, if there were people around me drinking, as you have in your life, I would find it very difficult. For now I am turning down any social invitations that may include drinking. I have even turned down dinner invitations where people offered to not drink, just for me, but I knew being in a restaurant would be tempting. For me, the easiest solution is avoiding situations where there is alcohol. If it is around you all the time, I honestly don't know the answer, and hope you find a solution. You are brave and wise for coming here.

No problem 50, most of the Eastcoasters have left for West
I'm near Windsor, ON and have a few Maritimers as AA buddies.
Are you attending meetings on the Rock? AA has saved my life for over 23 yrs.
All the best.

Welcome to SR 50!
I spent a lot of time thinking about quitting before I did, and then a lot if time trying to stop which would last for a few days. I loved coming home and pouring a glass of wine, however, it was never just a glass.
Today is 58 days and I am feeling much better than I did two months ago. Keep reading and posting, you will find lots of support here.
