Made it to day 6

After a rough night, I made it to day 6. Yesterday was the first day that I was really contemplating going back to drinking, and I am so glad I did not. To wake up this morning and feel awesome instead of hungover was such a relief. I was previously sleeping like crazy, but it took forever for me to fall asleep last night, and I was laying in bed thinking I could still go out and get a drink for hours. Once 2am hit (bars close) I knew I had made it. I want to thank everyone who gave me the strength to get through last night, and who encouraged me to stay sober. Without this site, I probably would have relapsed. Thank you all.

Congratulations of making it to day 6. This definitely is not easy. It feels so strange that inaction is harder than action, but that is way oversimplifying it.

Great job, let's all keep it up.

I use this OTC vitamin supplement that works well lately. It's by Schiff, called "knock-out" valarian, melatonin and some calcium i think. works well on the nights i have trouble. along with "relaxing tea"

isn't it better to wake up and think YEA! ?

I'm one day behind you.......it's tough, but so good waking up without a hangover and suddenly I have so much more energy.
I agree with you this site is great and so helpful at this very difficult time.
Keep up the good work and well done.

Very proud of you for rising above the urges and making it through. You can do this, and it will get easier.
