Day 30-Thanks to SR and the wonderful people here

Day 30, I never thought I'd make it this far.

My life without alcohol is amazing so far. What a difference. My anxiety is pretty much gone, at the least greatly reduced, I'm much more productive, I'm much more positive, and most importantly, I'm not a slave to a substance anymore.

Honestly, it took me so long to get to this point--I had so many starts and stops, maybe because of that I'm even more grateful to be here.

All of you here have helped me, even those who didn't reach out to me directly, just reading the stories and the comments taught me something. I can't say enough thanks to everyone.

Onward to the next 30 days and beyond!

SAM

HUGE CONGRATS ARE IN ORDER! You definitely deserve to feel and be better, and free of substance abuse, as we all do! Hope the next 30 and beyond are equally as great for you. Keep it up, just a week behind you at 23 days here :-D

Well done Sam. Here's to the next 30 days! I could have written that post as I have all the benefits you describe too. Anxiety free is great. I've had it for YEARS!!

SR is a lifeline, literally.

The crazy nutcase that lives way beneath my sober self, says "30 Days? Why, you should have a drink to celebrate"! Bad June!!!

My sane self says "Huge congratulations!!!" I am happy to hear how great you are feeling. 30 days seems so far away for me; I am just over a week. Great going!!!! Way to go.

LOL-June, I completely understand: "let's have a drink to celebrate 30 days of sobriety" WTH?

I chuckle at those thoughts, and shake my head. I DO NOT want to go back to that miserable cycle of drinking/hangover/shame EVER. Too much time on that merry-go-round :-)
