How did Sober Recovery start?
I had been on another recovery site - not nearly as well run as SR. I quit going there when I found SR. I was at my lowest point when I came here. I was desperate. Now I've found sobriety and peace and will be forever grateful to this place and the mods and admins who keep it running smoothly.
I cannot add much to what is already been said. I want to express my thanks to the moderators and everyone who makes SR the place it is...It is really an incredible support system for so many folks.
THANK YOU!

I'm amazed that there are no apparent trolls lingering around and am impressed with the charity and consistently civil discourse.
I've never been part of an online community that wasn't filled with trolls or a steady supply of viciously self righteous people.
I'm impressed and happy to be a part of this community.

Zoe thank you for bumping this thread, it's fascinating! People like Jon and the mods (past and present) really do change the world, something to think about the next time one of us thinks I'm just one person, what can I do?
I was lucky enough to know Jon and I will never forget him and the vision he had for sr. Not a dAy goes by that I am not enormously grAteful for sr and all the wonderful people here.
Way back...

Thanks everybody for the info. I stumbled on here last year after I got out of Rehab. Correy, thanks for sharing the old website. My EYES are so thankful that this site does not have a black background. Love SR, so nice to read the history. Bobbi

Have to admit, the 2005 version looked a bit dark and gloomy though
I've wondered how long this site has been around.
Cool info here
I am one who probably would Not be sober without SR.
I would be OK now if it was no longer but my life would not be the same. Here's to another 1000 years of SR.👍
