I had been on another recovery site - not nearly as well run as SR. I quit going there when I found SR. I was at my lowest point when I came here. I was desperate. Now I've found sobriety and peace and will be forever grateful to this place and the mods and admins who keep it running smoothly.

I stumbled across SR one night In 2011 when I was heavily boozed, it has been my mainstay in getting free from AlcoHell. Thank you !

THANK YOU!

I remember some time last year a normie stumbled upon our site and was amazed. They registered and posted just so say what an incredible community this is. So few trolls and such an amazing example of humanity. This place astounds me all the time. We are a group of people that normally wouldn't mix (much like AA). Here we all are, keeping each other inspired and picking each other up when needed. This is one of my happy places. I'm sure i could stay sober without SR but i am so deeply grateful for this site. We are an incredible group of people.

Zoe thank you for bumping this thread, it's fascinating! People like Jon and the mods (past and present) really do change the world, something to think about the next time one of us thinks I'm just one person, what can I do?

Thanks everybody for the info. I stumbled on here last year after I got out of Rehab. Correy, thanks for sharing the old website. My EYES are so thankful that this site does not have a black background. Love SR, so nice to read the history. Bobbi

Great thread!
Have to admit, the 2005 version looked a bit dark and gloomy though

Just for fun, I'm revisiting this thread.....

I lurked on SR for 10 years before I got sober and joined the forums....

I've wondered how long this site has been around.
Cool info here

I am one who probably would Not be sober without SR.
I would be OK now if it was no longer but my life would not be the same. Here's to another 1000 years of SR.👍
