Treating myself right

It's Friday.

I have off from work for the holiday.

I am sober.

And I am loving it!

Treating myself right today. Heading down to town for a tea and sit and people watch.

Gonna get some flowers for the house at this place that does em up really nice.

There just simply is no replacement of these moments and to think so many moments were wasted only makes these I am spending seem a bit more worthwhile.

Sounds like a fantastic day, Weasel1966! My counselor suggested tea as a replacement for alcohol. She said that the process of making the tea and the actual act of drinking a liquid must be just enough to allow urges to pass. So far, it seems like she's been right!

I hope you continue enjoying your relaxing day. Like you, I'm off work today, and I'm enjoying the slower pace.

Tekaane makes some good flavored teas...i love their "relaxing" types...it is honey flavored.

i only do decaff after 12noon, so i go for the herbal varities...love the lemon zinger mixed with blueberry zinger. i do have a special tea mug.

Great ideas, Ken.

Sometimes it is nice to not only do these things for yourself, but to also realize you HAVE the ability to do so.

God Bless.

Who would think treating yourself right takes practice. Lol

ok... So I got a hot chocolate instead. Damn tasty!

Sitting in the sun and a warm day.

Feeling very appreciative for having been sober.

Kristabell, there are so many things that you can do to treat yourself well that don't cost any money. I like buying new teas & cheeses, but I also like sitting outside with the sun warming my skin, going on hikes to see the changing leaf colors, and riding my bike on crisp days. I find that the better I treat myself, the more invested I become in my recovery. I'm starting to think I might be worth it.

What are some other ways that people treat yourself well? I'm looking for some good ideas! (Good topic, Weasel!)

Weasel, enjoy your day.

I think it's really good that you recognize YOU can create the moments of joy in your life.

I have been a slow learner Anna. But yes. Sometimes you need to take yourself on a date and feel good about things. I have had enough of that old life. Time for being calm and letting the ever present party go.

I love your perspective Weasel, keep sharing. And, no tea for me. I used to spike mine.

That's really wonderful Weasel1966, I have so many nice teas that are just sitting there, I will definitely add some tea making/enjoying to my daily routine tomorrow. I have a Japanese Sensha that I've been wanting to try. I was just missing a tea ball, but I have one now. One of my tea pots is in the shape of an elephant too, that'll make it fun
