hey jessica. im devin, im 22 and ive recently gotten off booze and xanax. You might be experiencing withdrawl from the vicodin and xanax. You should see a doctor and get some advice on how to safely stop using those drugs.

Hi and welcome. Sorry to hear that you are struggling. I agree with the advice of seeking medical help. Sorry I am not much help as alcohol was my drug of choice. You are not alone though and I know you'll hear from others soon.
Keep reading and posting. We can and do get better.

You really need to talk to a dr about your symtpoms. Your dr would also be able to help you with a plan to get off the drugs. Take care of yourself.

Hi Jessica - welcome

none of us are Drs so none of us can really answer that.

If you had a friend who was feeling sick, achey, with chills flashes and numbness wouldn't you recommend they saw a Dr?

Do your family even need to know?

D

Go to the ER. You're 22, they don't have to call your parents. Just talk to a doctor there. If it's nothing life threatening you'll just walk out and go home, knowing you're not going to keel over. If it is life threatening, well- none of the consequences you fear will matter if you die!

So often the things we think are so important pale to insignificance when we get some perspective. You need to save your life first- the other stuff will fall into place. The short term consequences of doing what you need to to get clean are minor compared to how bad things might get. What if you have a psychotic seizure at work? Better to face it on your terms than wait until you have no options.

Good luck! Be strong. SR is here if you need to talk.

Welcome brokengirl -

Glad you reached out today - that's a big step for most of us. It's easy to get down on ourselves and feel embarrassed about telling anyone, but there are so many people who have gone through the same thing. Addiction can affects anyone - I have a few friends who are nurses and go to AA meetings all the time.

See a doc if it gets too hard - they're not going to divulge anything about you and will probably be proud of you for wanting to get better. There are some that even specialize in addiction.....

Check out the substance abuse section here as well: Substance Abuse - SoberRecovery : Alcoholism Drug Addiction Help and Information

Hang in there....
