Theme tune to your life?
What song would you pick to describe how today is going to be for you?
I think mine would be 9 til 5 Dolly Parton!
Got to go to work but cannot wait to get home!
Maybe don't take it too seriously

Mine would probably have to be something along the lines of Quiet Storm by Mobb Deep. Lyric 'Spent so many nights sniffing coke, it ain't right, wasting my life, now I'm trying to make things right' Just an appropriate song really.

ON SUICIDE
Words by Bertholt Brecht, Music by Hanns Eisler
"In such a country, and at such at time
There should be no melancholy evenings
Even high bridges over the rivers
And the hours between the night and morning
And the long long winter time as well
All these are dangerous !
For in view of all the misery
People just throw, in a few seconds time
Their unbearable lives away."

Don't worry. I'm not suicidal, but I'm waiting to sort out an affordable way to go into detox and rehab and trying to find the best program for me. I know I have a lot of sleepless nights ahead of me during which I'll be tossing and turning thinking about the stuff that I've swept under the rug. The detox place I'm looking into will only cost $6/day, but they don't give you any meds to get off the booze. I can't even take vitamins in there. If the withdrawal gets to be too much, they just send you to the hospital.
Basically all they do is give you a balanced diet and you're in a place where you can't drink/use. Maybe I don't need all those vitamins if I stop drinking altogether. I already have a pretty good diet. Just can't resist drinking at least some each day. Never more than I plan to, but it's getting tiresome.
Oh yeah, then there's the Who song:
"All I did was have a bit too much to drink and I fell down on the floor,
Gonna rest some time so I can get drunk some more."
Nobody's asking me to go to rehab. It's my choice. I'm just gonna miss my old buddy beer.

The theme song to the Muppet Show. It's the ringtone on my cell phone and it makes me smile every time my phone rings. If I do something stupid I sometimes think of the song from the Wizard of Oz 'If I only had a brain'.

And "Wake up alone" by Amy Winehouse:
"I stay up, clean the house, at least I'm not drinking
Run around just so I don't have to think about thinking"

Georgy Girl ("Bring out all the love you hide and oh what a change there'd be.. You're always window shopping and never stopping to buy...")
CROSSED WITH:
the Mary Tyler Moore Show Theme Song (Love is all around,.no need to waste it... You can never tell, why don't you taste it?)
