Day 7:)

One week ago tonight was the last time I had wine. Today was a stressful day at work, however, went to my first education class through my insurance. Information was good, the scary thing for me is that they shared the odds of becoming addicted:
1/10 for anyone
5/10 if you have an alcoholic on one side of your family
4/5 if alcoholism is on both sides of your family

This scared me for my kids, and has made me more determined to set a good example, and I am also hoping that my husband will stop.

Looking forward to starting my second sober weekend! Thanks again for all of the support so for. I will keep posting.

Congrats on the week! That is pretty scary to read! We have to be positive role models for our kids for sure, they do look up to us. They already have enough negative influence coming in from all around them without us throwing more into the pot! Way to go for real! Keep it up!

Congratulations on your 7 days! good for you!

I don't even have kids and I am already worried about this. I know it is really silly, but I've already started thinking about ways in which I can stop them having the same problems with alcohol that are rife within my family. I'm hoping that having positive examples as parents will do the trick, but who knows... that's really ALL you can do. Set the right example and hope that they will follow.

They were scary, my dad was an alcoholic and died at 68. My kids are the most important thing in my life, and hearing that makes me hope the nurture can be stronger then the nature for them. Anytime I have that urge to have a drink I am going to remember those statistics.

Thanks again all of you for your support.
