These are a few of my favorite things

Going to the store today and do not fear a DUI, not spending all my money on booze, standing in line with a few items and a big bottle of booze wondering if people can smell I've been drinking. I used to live off cough drops. Life is hard but easier now.

Waking up ready to face the day not flee from the day

No panic to check emails from the night before

Hot chocolate at bedtime

Getting up and walking my dog and smelling the pine trees and not clock watching so I can have a drink after 12

I like the fact I have realised that I really love animals and that I enjoy the beach and walking in the woods. And that I have never been more in touch with the world than I am now.

I used to lie in bed and stare at my bottle trying to figure how much was left. How sad is that?

I used to hate walking into the living room and having to pick up all the empty bottles, cans and plates. Half empty beef and cider cans used to annoy me becuse of the waste.
