Hi,
My name is Gaz, 38 years old & I've just admitted to myself that I'm an alcoholic! I think the whole World knew that - only I was in denial! I usually drink 2, sometimes 3 bottles of wine a day other days I drink more. My shakes have become uncontrolable at times & its starting to affect my job! I've read somewhere on the internet that its dangerous to suddenly stop drinking over night and that I should detox under the supervision of a healthcare worker.
I'm not sure where I go from here, any advice would be gladly received.
Thank you for reading.

Well congratulations for finding the forums GPR. We are not supposed to ask for or recieve medical advice on this forum however I suggest that you go to a doctor and discuss your concerns with them as they will be able to supply you with the best course of action and any drugs you may need for your detox.
Welcome Gaz

Welcome to the family, Gaz. I hope you'll be comforted by joining the way I was. I never felt alone once I opened up and told my story.
I wish I'd admitted I was an alcoholic in my 30's. My life would have turned out so differently. You can get your life back and have a wonderful future - no more covering your tracks, no more misery. We're here for you, and we care.
