Almost 10 days
Well, the detox finished on Sunday night. Today is day 9 without a drop of alcohol and I am starting to struggle a little. Was so tempted to get something before I came home this afternoon, I refrained but, it is all I am thinking about at the moment. Trying to keep myself busy, but I have no energy.
Hope you are all fantastic.

Hey islandlass well done you!
I wondered where you had gone :>
If your body is tired and you can't keep busy physically, put some brain numbing tv on, or read Hello or something equally stimulating :>
Great to see you back and doing so wellx

Thanks. Was busy last week planning the engagement party. It was fantastic for everyone but quite a nightmare for me. Was anxious and overwhelmed the entire day and night. A few tears, which were hid from my sister, of course. Setting up was very difficult as I had to walk past the bar each time I took food up from the kitchen. The tins and bottles were looking at me so temptingly, haha. It is over now, which is a huge relief and it was a success which I am happy about
Had an appointment with CADS today and also setting up an appointment with the bereavement counselling in the area. Dual diagnosis appointment in a week. Just testing the waters with any help there is to see what fits best.

10 days is awesome! Sorry to hear you are struggling but glad you are making it through. Emotional ups and downs are normal for normal people. Those of us who numbed them with alcohol for years forgot that. Keep up the good work. You can do it!
Good job islandlass! You are almost to the double digits! So proud of you for being around alcohol and not giving in. Since I've quit I have tried to stay as far away f rom it as possible, I just know I'd cave if I were anywhe near it. Way to go lass!

Siren song
It is a brave person who wants or cannot resist the siren song, but who ensures she cannot actually act on it. Just go read the Odyssey again. I don't expect you to put wax in your ears, because it is going to call to you. But you don't have to give in. You have the power to hear it then ignore it.
