day 2 feeling good

Its day 2 for me & I feel good! I slept well & woke up feeling much better than yesterday. I think I can do this. This morning I went to my sister's house & was alone in the house with a bottle of whiskey. Before I would have had a couple of shots even though it was 9am. This time I took the bottle out & looked at it & told myself no more. It felt good. I am so glad I have made this commitment & found all of you.

Hey ca3726,

I hope you stick with it . For me, i was an emotional drinker, i had to learn ways to cope with emotions without resorting to alcohol .

Congratulations on day two and bestwishes on your journey, M

Good deal

I am so glad you feel so good , I could never move except to the bathroom for the first couple days.

Keep on keepin on, and I hope you find a program that can work with you.

Thanks! I'm feeling really positive about sobriety right now. I want to feel normal & good & get my health back. One question if anyone knows, about how long after quitting does the bloating & swelling especially in the face begin to go away? Thanks for any info. I hate feeling so bloated.

I would see a doc if you are concerned. Depending on how long you were drinking for you may need some vitamin supplements and the like.

I can't tell you how long it took for the puffiness to go down but it was nice when it did

Well done on day 2

Keep it up ca3726

I'd have some patience - we tend to do a number on our bodies and minds when drinking...it can take some time for things to return to normal....

like Hypo said see your Drs if you're concerned
