I asked for a lemon

I am still new to this. Today is day 12. During the past few days I have been consuming large amounts of lemon flavored anything – Propel, Zero Vitamin, etc.

Last night my husband and I went to one of our favorite restaurants. We ran into friends at the bar (the waiting area) who asked us to join them. My husband saw the look of horror in my eyes and followed my lead with a polite no thank you.

While we were looking at the menu, I could not help but notice that EVERY table around us had either a bottle of wine or those cute trees that give you a trio of samplers. I was jealous. But when the waiter asked for our drink order, I asked for lemon for my water. My fabulous husband did the same. To my surprise it was VERY refreshing! A familiar taste to remind me of my recent accomplishment. We thoroughly enjoyed dinner. Came home and went for a long walk. Then watched a movie – AND I REMEMBER THE ENDING.

Incredible accomplishment, Benice. Your husband was stellar, as well. When you ask for lemons, you get a yummy refreshing alcohol free drink. Very proud of you, girlie!!

The dinner was nice but it was ruined by my actions. Came home to watch a movie, passed out and have been sick all morning with a hangover and regret.
See how different it could have been.

Well done!

I remember vividly necking half a bottle of vodka before sitting down to watch Phone Booth a couple of years back, to make it more fun. I've just read that back and rolled my eyes.

Here's one.

I went to a movie with my wife and had a hip flask with me so that I could spike my lemonade. Jameson's as I recall.

The only thing that I remember about the movie was that I got so drunk that I actually ate those nachos things with the yellow sauce that looks like paint mixed with fertilizer, covered in about 80 sliced jalapeños. Wow. My wife is looking at me like I am completely insane. I am dying of indigestion and my core temperature is up around 400 degrees due to the whiskey and chilli. What an idiot........

I can honestly say that I don't miss moments like that.

Given my plans fora sober dinner this evening, I feel positively gourmet by comparison.
