Welcome to SR, Pinot! I have only been here a week and have already gained so much from the site. Please keep sharing your story with us in the days ahead. I wish you all the luck in your recovery.
Welcome, ILoved -
Congratulations for making this decision! It's scary at first, but things really will get better as you move forward. This place got me through those first days, so keep reading and posting!
Take it a day at a time and don't hesitate to see a doc if you have withdrawal symptoms.

Congrats Benice.
I loved all varital's of wine. I used to have a vip pass to take people thru Napa, from the restaurant I worked at in San Fran. Then moved to Ohio and worked for a winery.
My life without it so just so much more peaceful.
You can be free.

Welcome!!
21 days ago I went back to my first AA meeting in 3.5 years. I am spiritual and let the universe decide. I am not in control. And this has brought about nothing but positive things in my life from relationships with other people (alcoholics or not), my bank account and most importantly - myself.
You will soon find that things for once in life seem to be going "your way" - although it's not really "your or my way" - it's just going with the grain for once, and not against it.
I was sick and tired of being sick and tired, and now I keep it simple!

I'm so glad I found this forum. I am on day 8, off opiates that I have been abusing for 6 years. I still have trouble sleeping at night and I crave often, but I keep busy. I hope the insomnia ceases soon, as I have to be at work in the mornings. One day at a time
