mothers
Well, if you DON'T get help you could be at risk at some point of having your parenting questioned.. Unless you call and report that you're abusing or neglecting your child, I can't see any reason why you'd lose him if you're trying to find help. Have you considered going to some AA meetings (or NA? not sure what your addiction is)? You getting healthy will only help you be the best mommy you can be.

My kids are my motivation
My kids are my #1 motivation. I don't know your whole situation but for me I have been very lucky that my kids know I drink but have never had to see me wasted or really be effected by my decisions. I feel lucky, but I also know my luck will eventually run out and I can't bear the thought of that. So I am done drinking, now, and forever! I know it won't be easy, social gatherings, special occasions, etc. my plan is to simply state I am taking a break from alcohol and after some time, my response to people will be "you know, I took a break, and found that I really don't enjoy drinking" enough said, anyone who thinks less of me obviously has their own issues. You can do this for you and your kids. Count your blessings they are with you and take that as incentive to do the right thing for them and you. I know it's not easy, I think accepting that it will never be easy will actually help me face my goal and succeed.
