How are you beating your Saturday
Began my day with a good cup of coffee
sitting outside waiting for the first Cardinal
to fly on a wrought iron chair to have his or
hers seeds. What an awesome delight to
enjoy such wonderful gifts of the world.
We love our many pretty birds that visit us
each day as they bring lots of sunshine and
song to our backyard.
Because I dont venture out during the week,
I wait for my husbands day off on the weekends
to do our weekly shopping. It's a routine trip
to Walmart, maybe to Lowes, Target and this
morning it was a visit to the nursery for a few
flowers to plant and stopped in the Animal Hospital
to set up boarding for our 3 pets as we plan our
2nd trip to Sturgis next month.
We picked up lunch at Subway, returned home to
enjoy some golf on tv. No Tiger Woods this weekend
but there are many other good players we can
root for to win at Greenbrier.
Another Saturday living in recovery.

I am determined not to let a beautiful sunny Seattle Saturday beat me! I am newly sober 18 days as of today and feel great! Although, I still have issues of life and they are vexing to me and constant cravings ( IE A COLD beer, a mixed drink of some sorts, or shots ) I am not going to give in.
So I got to an AA meeting at 7 am with people that has beat this disease! Got invited to a BBQ that doesn't have booze at all in it. Have a meeting with my sponsor working step one and to wrap up my evening I will go to another meeting.
Life is good!

I have done Saturday daytime. It is the evening in the UK. Spoke with my Sponsor this morning - starting to work the steps. Am excited and nervous about starting but know in my heart that I need and want to do this.
Spend the rest of the day with my lovely Husband, we went out for the day just mooching around, a bit of shopping, lunch out and a late afternoon tea. Settling down tonight to a bit of BB reading and some time with my new friends on SR whilst listening to Classic FM
Three months sober and loving it. God willing it will be a lovely Sunday too....

I can happily say I am not beating my day but truly enjoying it. Very little work outside to hot at 100 degrees today, but watched a good movie, now off to a meeting then dinner and a little SR and some reading of my book.
I am off to buy a new window Air Conditioner for my little finished out portable 12X20 building. I drank today, lots of coffee. I never stopped drinking, only stopped any intake of alcohol in my drinks.
Have a great weekend all!
Have a great weekend all!
I'm alternating reading a book on the couch and reading a book on the porch. Tonight the husband and i are going out to dinner at an Ethopian place. After that we're going to Summerfest to see Cake! There's a ton of drinking there but fortunately it doesn't bother me much. I'm too destracted by the music. As long as i can have a Hawiian Shaved Ice, i'm happy.
I went to a street festival and then headed over to a Fish & Chip shop that I had read about. They serve New foundland style chips/fries (with dressing & gravy).
So me being the foodie that I am, I had to try them...they were really good. But the best part of my Chippy visit....the owner, Norman, is 88 years old and only recently opened his shop as it was a lifetime dream. What an inspiration this man is.
I told Patty, his employee, that I had read about the shop on a local food blog. So now, I'm about to write a review....and it won't be just about how good the fish & chips are

I was at Salsa on St Clair, a great afternoon of music and Latin Dance. Now settling in to a bbq'd supper and a movie. Newf fish and chips? I am going to track this place down, debsam.

I made it. Stayed sober all weekend and I have to thank you people from SR.
You are truly special cause you all had and have big problems like me but decided somehow to say "I won't give up, I can be happy". And you with your comments and words you give me joy and hope.
This weekend I have realised that for too long I have tried to make my external world (work, money, clothes, people's opinion of me) determine how happy I am. I was walking and I said "hey it's a beautiful Saturday and you are sober, can you just stop worrying and enjoy the present". And I looked around and realised that I all have is the PRESENT.
Yes I could have more, like everybody else. But I think about it what I have is enough to be extremely happy if I am just able to count my blessings.
I wish you all a great Sunday
Today when I woke up to go to Church I just understood it for the first time.
There is no such thing as 1 drink. I have to give up completely. I have no choice. I simply cannot stop like others do. "Say no to alcohol to have a fantastic life?"
I think I can do that! :-)

I went to a meeting and remembered again that I am an alcoholic, and drinking just isn't an option for me...but everything else is! So I got busy enjoying a beautiful day.
Nmrn: THAT is funny, made my day!!
