Welcome, Live2Run and Cinderblock. You are in a good place for support.
I also come from a long line of alkies. Both of my parents were alcoholics and so is my brother, although he's sober now. Even so, it still came as a great surprise to me that I was one too. Duh.
I can relate to the idea of wondering where your next drink is coming from. I used to buy the little airline bottles of Jack Daniels because I knew if I bought the "big" bottle, I couldn't trust myself not to drink the whole thing. I'd only let myself buy 3 little bottles at a time (of course, I went back to the liquor store for 3 more at least once or twice every night), but after I'd finish the last of the 3, I would feel SO sad. Madness!
Anyway, glad you're both here.

Hi and welcome Liverorun25,
Wow isn't it amazing as children of alcoholics, (I swore I would never drink) we follow our parents path, of course our path looks a lot different but it ends in the same place.
I hope you find the strength and resolve to stay sober, you are well aware of alcoholism and I don't need to remind you.
I am over one year sober with the support of AA and this forum.
Love
