By the Grace of My Higher Power I'm Alive
Rushed my ambulance to ER last Sunday at 2am, possible heart attack. Just got released today. I am wiped out bled out and lectured out. Did you know alcoholism can kill you? I didn't know that until about 1o DRs informed me, but here I am. Their professional advice was don't drink, told theem I should have thought of that, but anyway its good to be back with my SR friends. My advice, don't drink, ifyou do don't have a heart attack. Love to all.
(((Fitz))) - I'm glad to see you back here. As a former RN (lost that career to addiction), I can tell you that alcoholism/addiction causes serious problems.
Unfortunately, I ignored that knowledge and became an A.
Take care of yourself, sweetie. Live every day as if it were your last. Just a little something I learned from my mom, who had heart disease. She died at the age I am now.
Your life is precious...take advantage of every minute, hour, day that you have. It's what keeps me going when things get rough.
Love, hugs, and prayers,
Amy

So I'm asked that most comforting of questions "If my heart stops do I want to be resusitated? " I relpied" brother if my heart stops I don't want you to be resusitated and grinned." They just appeared confounded but they sure got down to business. Course that may have been when they were dripping morphene and I was singing Ozark Mountain Daredevils "Like my daddy said its in your heart and not your head." I did become famous wearing those stupid hospital gowns Toga-style.
We slept with our doors open and people would visit in the middlle of the night sometimes just for companionship, it was really quite spiritual and really a lot of beauty like a chapel of kindred souls. There was a code blue and no one came out to gawk but to pray. I felt pretty blessed by the felowship . Peeing in a bottle with feeding tubes was a challenge but I got lots of advice and help especially from the women, got over my shyness and could only imagine what they had to go through. Funny my reams never drifted from the reality of my situation so I never new if I were asleep or awake. I always prayed for you guys,
