[QUOTE=Payton;3414824]Focus on right now - not all summer. You can make those decisions later. Right now you're responsible for today, this moment, this hour, and you know what your decision is - to not drink.

Why did you stop in the first place? Revisit the pain that it has caused you.

QUOTE]

This is my first post-I should be doing my own post instead of slipping this into someone else's!!

I am using these two methods right now-especially "revisit the pain it has caused you"--but I'm adding shame to this phrase as well.

Today is my day 2.

Welcome to SR ImLearning2Fly and congrats on starting a new way to live sans alcohol/drugs.

Why not introduce yourself to the SR community with a new post?

I know the feeling, it's hard to deal with, I am fighting those same kinds of thoughts right now, good luck hope you can get through it.

thanks - I'm (sounds like a few of us) are in for a rough (mental) ride. I'm craving again and can only think of how I can't wait to get off work. Whoever said that quitting and staying quit wasn't easy - that's an understatement.

AVRT is effortless. It's all about separation. It's hard for IT but not YOU. You don't have to do anything other that let your Beast struggle.

I am not trying to undermine what you're feeling right now but I think if you read the Rational Recovery book you may find it a lot easier.
