Today is my 40th Birthday and......
Today is my 40th birthday and it has been a huge rollercoaster of a 24 hour period, but no drinking so still hanging in there. I feel like I've had just about every sterssor or had to deal with the people who usually trigger me to drink. Believe me I've thought about it often today. Why not celebrate....it's a big birthday? Inability to understand certain family members ( parents are major long time alcholics in complete denial!) and of course always the lovely control issues with the ex husband. I also had 2 kids up coughing half the night last night and no night nurse for my disabled daughter which meant a grand total of about 3 hours of sleep. I know I'm rambling......thanks if you are still reading! It's now 9 pm where I live which means the liquor stores are closed I guess I made it another night, very glad I can still say that!
I'm sorry the day was a bit rough butterflies5 - but you really have given yourself what I think is the best birthday gift we can give ourselves- waking up tomorrow clean and sober
happy birthday!

Well done and Happy Birthday.
Life will just keep getting better.
Watch for people, places, things that trigger. If you can't avoid, you can acknowledge them.
HALT, Hunger, Anger, Loneliness, Tiredness. Big triggers. Hope you get some sleep tonight.
