day five
Its day five and I am feeling fairly spry and clear headed. Normally my alcoholic brain take this as a sign that I am ready to drink like a fish because i am feeling way to good. I would imagine over the last twenty years i have wasted more saturdays sleeping past noon than not. When i make it through the weekend sober i think it will feel amazing. I have had a beer belly since i was in my early twenties, would be awesome to get rid of it
You're off to a good start, and congratulations on five days.
My urges to drink would kick in on day four, after I'd recovered, physicaly and mentaly, from the last drunk.
I always gave in. Look better, feel better. Hey! I can drink.
This cycle went on ad infintum.
Don't give in to feeeling better because if you don't drink, it only gets better.
Perhaps a program of recovery will work for you. You'll find peole just like yourself who have achieved long term sobriety.
Come here, read and post as often as you need to.
It can be done. Think that first drink through to the end, and the misery it'll lead to. This has worked for me for over two years.
Best to you, and stick with it.
