1 Year Sober Today. I actually did it.
Ryan - congrats, buddy!
Also, I love how over this past year my mind has ascribed a unique "sound" to your words. Don't take this wrongly, but may we never meet because hearing your real voice might freak me out.

I just wanted it THAT BAD! When you really want something that much, its all you can think about. There were many bumps on the road, but I never let them push me off course. I kept trucking down that road! Day by day
The hardest part for me was learning how to defend against my own thoughts. The mind is a powerful thing, and believe it or not it sometimes does NOT always know whats best for you despite what it tells you.
Learn how to defend against that, and your golden!

Loved your post - I think you did a great job of expressing what "word can't express"! You're right about the thinking thing, too - it's really freeing to be able to choose which thoughts to go with and which ones to reject. Power!!!!!
Getting a year sober is a huge milestone - Congratulations!!!!!
