Feeling so down
Why do I do this to myself? I walked back from buying alcohol in tears asking myself why I keep going back every day and buying the same old bottles of strong cider. I've not eaten all week nor drunk anything other than alcohol. Feeling so sick. Alcohol has made me loose jobs, my house, health, friends, relationships, my confidence..........the list goes on and I am still young.
I am waiting on a place in rehab.....it can't come soon enough. I want my life back.
I don't really know why I am posting this but I am. Thanks for listening.

Hi,
I can feel your pain and I understand your frustration with yourself.
I'm so glad you're getting into rehab and I hope that it happens very soon. In the meantime, get rid of the alcohol and get some food for yourself. Have you talked to your dr and is it safe for you to stop drinking? If so, then get started on that today and it will make you feel like you're moving forward with your life.

I'm sorry UK7. We've all been where you are. Round & round in the cycle of insanity & addiction.
But don't be sorry you posted, you're reaching out for help. Thats a brave thing to do. You've identified the problem now you have to work on the solution. You can overcome this.
Lots of people here have. Keep reading & posting. I hope rehab works for you.
You deserve to be free from poison.
You're not alone.

UK7,
Life can be so much better for you. You too can be happy again, because there are so many people here who prove that people can recover. and be happy. even after going through so many of the same things you have. unfortunately, sometimes much is lost before you admit you need help. I am glad you are here, and you will find awesome support here. many here like you, UK7. you are not alone. better days are ahead , so hang on for dear life, and best wishes to you. life does not have to be that way anymore.
hugs,
chicory

Welcome UK...There is no reason to do this alone...Take a look at the links Dee gave you...Find something you like and give it all you got...Use this site and start working for a better life....It's there. We've been there...You can get out of this.
Hi UK - We all understand, believe me. I did the same thing for many years. I'm sorry to say I was no longer young by the time I finally stopped trying to be a social drinker. By then it had completely destroyed my life and ruined everything I'd tried to build up. It sounds like you've lost a lot, but there's still time to turn it all around.
You can have a beautiful new life and forget all the bad days. We're here to listen and help. You can do this, UK.

Welcome to SR UK7 I know it probably doesn't feel like it now but there is a way out of this. I'd recommend talking to drinkline too - 0800 917 8282. I've spoken to them a few times before and it helped just to get it out there. They will probably recommend you try to cut down though, it's what seems to be the thing in England at the moment. If you can do that then great, it will really help. But if you struggle (I did and I know other people here have too) don't feel bad, just try something else. If you have a read around the threads on here you can find out about what others have done and what might help you. Glad you're here

hi .
going thru the same emotions as you my friend ,
the pain is unbearable.
having to live in our head when reality sets in is the most awful feeling i can imagine.
just know we are all in this together ,you are not alone .
but remember pain is necessary for growth...i have to keep reminding myself of this.
stay with us.
god bless

Hi, UK. Sorry you feel so down. I know it seems overwhelming, but the truth is, virtually every great recovery story begins with the person feeling like the lowest of the low. You can do this—and you will.
Really glad you found SR—you'll get a ton of info and support here!

We're here for you, UK..... I asked myself the same question over and over for years, too. I wasn't sure I'd ever be able to get sober and most days I didn't even have the energy to care - I was just trying to keep from letting the depression and anxiety drive me crazy. It's what alcohol does to us.
You've made plans, and you're on your way to a better life. It's tempting to want to get in a few last drinks but it's only going to make you miserable. Today can be the start of something new if you want it to be.:ghug3

We are here for you. I've also had the same expirience. Although YOU want to stop, the addiction just acts in auto pilot and takes over your brain. It's almost as seening yourself outside your body saying, "WHAT THE EF ARE YOU DOING".
I would suggesting trying to find some place like AA in the meantime. Your worst enemy is bordom. Boredom has driven me back to the bottle many of times. Try to keep busy.
You can use this forum as a way to vent as well.
