Hello Regeneration, fellow atheist here.
I found that following what other AA atheist/agnostic people have done to fully recover from alcoholism helps me as well. I found some great instruction on the web (see below links) and belong to a couple very helpful online groups that are AA atheistic orientated.

As for a Higher Power, the Helping People in AA, as you already found, are wonderful helpers.
