Day 2 !!!
Day 2 !!!
Hi Everyone, Day2 for me and it is a little better. Still ache internal but I think it just the insides screaming for more booze. Shaking has slowed down but is still there. I know it will pass so I'm just going to have to deal with it!! Everyone here needs to know how helpful SR is as I never talked to anyone about it for 20 years. Complete denial (although) everyone in my life knew I had a big problem. They all made small hints for me to quit but I would ignore it and put on a pretty good act that I had it under control (NOT!!) There is no controlling it as it controlled me in every way. My beautiful wife finally stepped in and gave me a big wake up call. So I am done with the poison. No plans to leave the house this weekend, not ready yet. Stay strong all,
Keep in there each day adds up and confidence too.
Your wife will be great support, though remember it could be boring for her so if you can show her how much you love her and not for just being there but for her.
Good luck John.

Great News BD and keep at it. You are very fortunate to be able to heal up at home at
this time before hitting the real world . I took it very easy for a month when I first
started out and really am still going slow as sober living seems to be much a much
different pace. Those first days can be intense. Take good
care of yourself by relaxing , eating well, and healing up .

That's great to hear, BelizeDiver!
Glad you're sticking it out at home this weekend. The first Friday night was one of the hardest times for me, but I got through it with SR (and eating!)..... Just remember, if you do get cravings, they won't last forever. It's just the old tapes playing, and it takes a while to get them out of our head.
Keep up the good work!
