Rash that won't go away...alcohol related?
I got a rash towards the end of November. It was awful...all over my entire body and incredibly itchy. I went to Urgent Care, where I was put on a steroid to reduce the inflamation. I then went to a dermatologist and had skin biopsies done. The lab results were inconclusive...basically said it might be contact dermatitis, but they weren't sure.
I quit drinking in the beginning of December...so I have over two months of sobriety and I'm feeling a million times better. Only thing is...the rash will NOT go away! I haven't done a thing different...I'm not eating any different foods, I haven't changed my detergent, not taking any medication (I quit the steroid on New Year's Eve)...I can't figure this out.
The rash sort of looks like discoid eczema, which I've heard can be linked to alcohol abuse. The rash is cyclical...it seems to come back every two weeks or so. I'm just wondering if anyone else out there has had anything similar to this or any ideas of what the heck this might be...could it possibly be due to liver damage? HELP!!

I have an autoimmune disorder with Guttate psoriasis. It is initiated by strep throat and made a whole lot worse by drinking. I had to go through 3 months of pure UVB light treatment. It's still not 100% gone.
no, what I was trying to get across is we can't give you medical advice on this site LL.
It's not only because it's against our rules - even if someone posts they had a similar rash, how would you know it's from the same thing?
