OMG I feel like I'm crawling out of my skin
Good work on 3 days! I know how you feel - I felt like that through my first week of detoxing. I took a lot of hot baths to help me relax, and exercised a lot to try and release that manic energy.
It didn't always work, but I got through it and it eventually let up.

In my experience, there is no smoothing it out, you ride it out. It is very temporary, the body dumping poison out of the system.
Hot baths, lots of water or gatorade, and faith that it will pass, because it WILL pass.
hang in there, this is not a sign that something is wrong, it is a sign that something is very right, you are getting clean.

I smoked cigs and drank coffee....a lot. less then ideal. a better thing i also did was walk walk walk. I think I walked maybe 25 miles total in my first three days (no car does that to a guy). It did get better with a little time.
I have to be honest, my heart pours out to you on this.
I remember the feeling very well.
Food is medicine. Be sure to eat really well when your are able since you need to feed your brain which is working overtime in overdrive right now.
Alcohol is mostly sugar so sweets can temper the early cravings a bit.
I drank a lot of hot peppermint tea. Somehow it helped a bit.
Keep the company of others close (as you did - good move).
+Everything Threshold said, good advice.
And remember - "This too shall pass". I had a counselor tell me that the worst of the cravings usually don't last longer than two minutes. When I paid attention to it - she was right.
This won't last forever. When you make it through these first few days there is likely a wonderful "pink cloud" waiting for you to help you in your journey.
-Broadcasting thoughts of peace and rest your way.
