Hi John,

Great that you are posting and great that you have a plan. I might think of this as an opportunity to stop at 8, and feel good that I stopped and have a great attitude for the next day knowing I gave myself a little bit of a start.

Thanks for the support, I really do appreciate it. The other guy just took that completely out of context. My point is that im quitting alcohol for good on the 31st (if I'm correct, I do believe this is the last day of the year). Thank you so much for your kind words. They do mean a lot.

There is a disconnection there.

You can't seriously be comparing these two statements. Totally out of context and in 2 seperate posts? When I said "I'm serious this time." I was referring to being sober on new years eve. When I said something like "I've already drunk 8 beers." I was referring to tonight. I don't get your point at all. Yes I am drunk now and yes I'm giving up on new year eve. I'm not even going out. Why say something like that?

You're right, I'm not. The 31st is my date which I set for myself... fair enough? I'm only 24 years old. I'm not gonna argue anymore because there is nothing to argue about. I'm starting my sobriety in the new year as I think it is a good time for me.
