Feeling Hopeful

I just finished Alan Carr's book and I am feeling hopeful and less like ****. Being in outpatient has really helped me this week but also made me feel very down and emotional so this book was a needed pick-me-up. That and a nice phone call with my sister that said this wasn't always what my life was like and it doesn't need to be in the future.

This forum has helped me considerably. I feel like there's hope. Thanks to all of you.

Harley, just keep doing what you're doing. You're going to have times when you feel down, but counteracting with continued learning (like a book) a good chat with your Sis, is the way to do it...that's called coping and you are doing it!!!

After 8 months sober, I still look for things to "pick me up" - I'll do that for the rest of my life. You're doing great Harley.

I've done it all, treatment, AA, books, meditation, SR and I hope there's more...I take what I need and add them to my plan to keep going
