90 days sober for me!

Well, I never thought I would see this day again. 90 days. And things are so much better than they were 90 days ago when I was seriously contemplating suicide - not so much because I wanted to die, but because I couldn't live the way I was living anymore -out of control drinking was brutally affecting every part of my life adversely. If it would not have been for my pets, I may not be here now. I honestly did not believe that I could stop drinking.

Newcomers: I am living testament that you can stop drinking, no matter how long or how much you have been drinking. You just have to really, really want to stop.

I can not say thank you enough to everyone in SR that has helped me. I read this site daily, and it has been a large part of my recovery. Thank you.

I think many of us owe our pets a lot of gratitude. My wonderful Siamese was only friend who stuck with me throughout my years of drinking.

Congratulations on your 90 days sober!

Big hugs and congrats on your sober time! My dogs are a huge part of my sobriety as I want to stay sober so I can give them the good healthy life they deserve.

I remember hitting 90 days and how stunned I was to reach that milestone. Stunned, yet pleased. You have every reason to be proud of yourself.

Congrats Sissy07!!!! 90 Days!!! :day2

I appreciate your posts, and your optimism. And, I share in the growth you've experienced in 90 days. I too was hopeless about 90 days ago, and now have the desire to live and grow. Even though there's a lot of weeding to do in my life, it sure feels better to be a alive today than it did, doesn't it!?

Keep posting, and keep going!

Congratulations.

I can honestly say I felt suicidal before I gave up drinking too. I still have my down days but they don't last as long anymore. I also have pets and they're part of my reason to lead a healthy life, they deserve me to be around, they give completely unconditional love xx

WOOHOO!!! Feels awesome, right? I just hit my 90 days a little over a week ago. Being sober is so much better than how I was living before.

Congratulations Sissy! That is a huge accomplishment. Thank you so much for the advice to newcomers. I do believe that you really have to want it, work on it daily and support from other drinkers that understand is essential. Thank you for your care and concern for others.
