Trying Again
So I went for my assessment today. They recommended detox and out patient treatment. I opted out of detox because I can't leave my kids. I am going to do out patient though plus AA. I then made an appointment with a doctor. Never met him. I was very nervous. I was amazed at the service I got. I told him that I was their to get some advice on detoxing on my own. He basically told me to eat every hour because I have issues with my blood sugar. He then said to stay away from my Colonzopam because it seemed that I was replacing one for the other ( alchohol). He assured me that I might feel like crap for about four days but to push through.
I have never gotten such good treatment from a doctor. He spent an hour and I am not lying on how alchohol effects the body and why I need to quit. To top it off I did not even have to pay for my visit! He was blunt about my drinking but like he said it would do me no good if he sugar coated it.
Anyways so here I go again. Day one.

That's great, Sark!! You're really handling things well... It's wonderful you've found such a good doctor who tells you the truth and doesn't sugarcoat. And he didn't charge you anything... nice! Sounds like a good plan for you.
You really are taking good, solid action to build a new and better life for yourself.
Well Done!! I love the way you move instead of obsess, take action instead of just think about taking action. You are the master of your life and recovery, and you're being a very good friend to yourself.
