Hello, I'm new
Hi,
I first joined this site quite some time ago but this is my first time posting. Not really sure if I'm posting this in the right place.
I'm just looking for some support in addition to meetings. I've been looking at the threads on the different Steps and they look very useful and informative. I'm coming up to six months sober and am on my step 4 (which despite being initially excited about I am now procrastinating over it to the point of frustration).
This is not my first attempt at sobriety. I got five months last year (in the Rooms) but didn't really take the steps and suggestions very seriously. Before that I had a period of two and a half years where I didn't drink without the help of AA, however I do not consider that sober time as I smoked weed pretty much continuously. It was hellish, I was so lonely and resentful.
This time around it feels 'right' and I am so keen to work the programme properly. So tired of being unhappy and I so want the compulsion to drink to leave me alone.
