4 month mark
Thank you all for being here. I've appreciated the support of each and every one of you on this journey.
While I'm still dealing with issues of depression, etc., I can honestly say that I do not HAVE to drink today and for that I'm very grateful. In fact, it has been a couple of months since my last actual desire to drink.
For those just starting out - I promise it does get better.
On Feb 14, 2011 at 8am I was in my first AA meeting shaking so bad I couldn't even drink coffee without spilling and had convulsions the next few nights.
I'm also grateful that my family can count on me to be there.
Here's something else really cool:
I can go through my DVD collection and watch about half of them again having not remembered a thing since I was likely blasted when I watched them the first time! lol

Right there with ya, dry since February 8th and the same for me I've still got issues to deal with but each day without alcohol gets me one day closer to being whole again. I just happen to be watching an old movie tonight that I don't remember from my drinking days.

Excellent work....I hope I'm able to report 4 months in about 3 more months....
I hear you about watching the movies again thing....:-) The only thing I'm going to miss about being sober next year is at Easter........This year I got to hide my own easter eggs....
