First off a solid program of recovery will help you see just how amazing sobriety is and to help you start a new life. Take a look in our Alcoholism form and at the top of it there is a sticky with a list of different recovery programs. Just pick one from the list, find one that works for you.. Hang in there and never ever give up...

Early on, for me the meetings were a substitute for booze. Going in I'd be tied in knots and after I'd feel relaxed and mellowed out.

Might make it easier for you, and it's plenty hard enough.

Welcome! Yes, you are ready to go to a meeting. If you want to speak up, when the chair asks if this is anybody's first meeting, raise your hand. They will likely do a first timers meeting and you will get a lot of support.
