Wait who's that over there? Its me with 3 weeks!

3 weeks of being sober today!

Someone call Guinness because its a record! May be a personal record, but a record at that!

So being that Im 3 weeks in these are my overall comments to myself each week.

Week 1: "Detoxing Sucks - will I ever sleep?! But I know it will get better!"
Week 2: "Wow! It did get better, but dang am I craving drinking a lot"
Week 3: "Why did I drink for so long!? I was missing out on life! And I love tea!"

Hahaha on that tea comment. Some of you may have read my older posts, and know I've been on this hot green tea kick lately.

One of the bigger things over this last week besides feeling great is I'm starting to notice how freakin ******** drunk people are. AND ANNOYING! And to think I was one of them just a few weeks back.

Ive also been staying awake longer. Ive always been a night person, but am finding out I can stay awake late without drinking. That I dont need the use of alcohol to enjoy my nights. Alcohol was a stimulant for me, and I'm sure it was for some of you as well. But its been real nice staying awake real late, sipping tea, and just enjoying peaceful nights without booze.

Alright Im off! Stay strong people! I'm walking proof to all you 1-2 day people out there that it does get better! Trust me is does! AND FEELS TERRIFIC!

-Ryan

P.S. Anyone have the number for Guinness? :P

We are at the same place so i can second what you are saying. I have been hitting the tea hard as well the last little while. Think i value waking up in the morning with a clear head the most.

Congrats on your progress.

Good job!! I'm at my three weeks too and I totally know what you mean about feeling better about it. Drunk people can definitely be annoying, stupid, and obnoxious -- regardless I never lose the thought of ME being that drunk person because I could out annoy, out stupid, and out obnoxious any of the drunk people I'm exposed to... haha

Keep it up!!!

Awesome. It is funny how when we think back we wonder why did we torture ourselves for so long. I love staying up late and I love tea! LOL
Glad you are succeeding. Leep up the hard work.

Great work, Ryan.

You nailed what has been the most transformative and awesome part of this whole thing for me: peacefulness. Rock on!

Great job, Ryan! I can say I have truly enjoyed reading your posts. You have a great knack of humor with honesty, and an enthusiasm for life that I share. Nothing but good things coming to you! Can't agree with your passion for the green tea though...ick!

@ newwings... I'd have to agree with you about the green tea. Reminds me of taking a chunk of newly laid grass and throwing it in a steeper.
