Soo sleepy

I have been extremely fatigued since I stopped drinking 15 days ago. Is this normal or should I be worrying about something else?

For me it was normal. I was soooooooo tired the first month or so. I read somewhere the body can only heal at rest. I think it was my body healing. I still get tired sometimes if I get into the bad habit of staying up all nite like I used too (but without the beer for fuel). Otherwise, I have more energy then before.

Good to know. I was a little worried, but it does make sense that my body is healing.

You might want to begin walking daily and be sure to drink
a lot of water.

well done on your sober time....

I hope you feel better soon, and don't hesitate to talk to your dr if this continues.

My body was exhausted from all the drinking. Not sleeping properly etc. Compared to the time spent drinking it makes sense to give yourself some time to heal. Like Anna said consult your Doctor if you feel something unusual is going on.

Best Wishes to You!

I had the same thing happen to me, once I was too the point where I could get to sleep at night my body sure wanted to stay asleep. I struggled with getting out of bed for about a week and then seemed to get some energy back.

I was soooo tired and unmotivated too..... but I managed to do what I had to do to get through the day. As long as I was sober I felt that I could deal with the other stuff and it would get better.

At about 3-4 months (and I know this is different for everyone), my energy not only returned, it's been better than it's been for a long time.

Just take it easy on yourself - you'll get there!:ghug3

Thanks everyone. This all sounds like exactly what is happening to me. I will give it time.
