Great stuff MustStaySober. I am in a similar situation as to your original post. It's good to read posts from people who have had success with programs. Do you still hang out with your original drinking buddies or have you found new non-drinking friends?

I don't. I don't return their phone calls either. Once alcohol was taken out of the equation it changed my perspective. I don't really have too much in common with those guys aside from how much we liked to drink together. I've found quite a few non-drinking friends from going to meetings and stuff. They're all working the program as I am so we always have stuff to talk about.
At first the idea seemed crazy to me until I really thought about it. My old drinking buddies are still doing exactly what they were doing two months ago. Using, using, using.
