Lost My Love The Last Day I Drank
Welcome hevsweetie
Many of us know what you're going through - I'm sorry.
The important thing, I think, is to focus on your recovery for now - everything else will radiate out from that
You'll find a lot of support here - welcome!

Welcome Hevsweetie. The sad thing is..some people just don't get out in time. Or they get out..but then go back to drinking and can't seem to find sobriety again. The biggest hope I think would be that by you quitting..others may follow your example. I am sorry you are feeling all this pain. I hope you forgive yourself.
I hope things turn around for you. Everyone will have similar stories of loss. I hope you get what you wish and those that have been hurt along the way forgive you. I think more importantly... you need to forgive yourself so you can concentrate on recovery. You obviously have the ability to not drink as you had 4 years put together in the past. Best wishes.
Hi and Welcome!
I'm glad you found us.
It took me a long time to begin to forgive myself for hurting my family. It was very hard to accept and difficult to deal with. But, as you recover, I think you will begin to forgive yourself.
We do understand.

We're glad to have you here! I did the same thing - was sober for 3 yrs. & without even thinking about it very hard, picked up again. I was back in it's grips for another 7 yrs. before finding SR. That last time I almost lost my life.
As Dee & others said, concentrate on yourself & your recovery for now. It's a big job, and deserves your full attention. One of my main problems was overwhelming guilt and regret - it made my recovery so difficult. When you feel strong and hopeful again everything will fall into place. It will happen!

Hev, I'm sorry to hear about your situation. Take it slowly - the rest will take care of itself after you address your drinking problem. It's the first step in regaining the person you were meant to be.
Best of luck,
Edd
