New and glad to be here!
Hi all! I used to work full time and had a horrible marriage...drank every night just to cope. My best friend from 1994 found me and I left my husband for him and moved to start a new life for me and my two children...he has two as well so now I have four! We have found that we enable each other with drinking and eating...now both overweight and alkies. Super right? I am trying to stay sober day to day....I have gone from drinking daily to once a week the last three weeks...it is finally losing it's charm for me and makes my hubby sick. I am really glad I found this site and hope to get support and give back as well!

Hi Sobermrs -
and welcome to SR! Glad you're here. Yeah, I've found that the whole "geographic" change doesn't work; neither does changing jobs or partners or whatever - the problem with alcoholism is that it's IN you, so wherever you go, there you are.
SO!! The options become pretty simple: change, or stay the same. It's a huge step that you're here and wanting to get some help - keep coming back!

Hello to you. I'm a newbie here as well with only 33 days under my belt. So far I've found being here on the SR boards very supportive and informative. Keep taking things one day at a time. That's how I do it. I thank God every night for a sober day and ask him to grant me one more.....One day at a time for me, it's seems so much easier than trying to tackle forever in a 24 hour period.
Good luck.
Good luck.

Hi - I too am a newbie here, and so glad I found this site.
There is a ton of support and inspiration here at SR. It has gotten me to 5 days straight without drinking, which hasn't happened in many years.
Good luck to you!
