101 Days Sober
Meant to post this yesterday as a sort of '100 days in office' type affair but I forgot all about it.
101 days ago I was a wreck, stumbling from one bender to the next, filled with shame, bitterness and self-loathing, blaming everyone but myself, unemployed and practically unemployable and running away from every little problem I had. I was useless and selfish.
Today, I'm up early every morning, hitting the gym before work, looking people in the eye, saying hello to neighbours I dared not speak to in the past in case they'd seen my latest antics, I'm upbeat, confident, able to deal with everything thrown at me in a rational manner, I'm helpful and unselfish, I've regained the trust of my loved ones, I'm making new friends and am being a useful member of society.
It's such a short space of time but it's like two different people. I couldn't have come this far without everybody on here.
