Got my test results...
I had my blood drawn Saturday, and my doctor has already emailed me the results this morning.
My cholesterol is high, which I expected, since I haven't been keeping a close watch on what I've been eating, and haven't been exercising.
But the good news is that my kidney and liver function results are within the acceptable ranges. He did say that I have some inflammation in my liver, which should go away as I continue to remain sober.
What is nice about quitting drinking is not only waking up every morning feeling good... it has also energized me to make my health a priority.
Its strange, back when I was daily drinking, I stopped taking my vitamin and baby aspirin (as my doctor recommended years ago), and have no idea why, since it takes all of 10 seconds to do. Now that I'm sober, I never forget to do this.
Its almost like my drinking addiction became such an obsession, it overtook many other areas of my daily life. Its nice to have these parts of my life back!

Great news! So glad you went and now can rest a bit easy with a plan. I too somehow went to the dark side if you will and stopped vitamins and all that.
Drinking for me was an obsession....now that is gone and I enjoy my daily healthy living.
Thx for updating!

Glad to gear the good news. I have been alcohol free for one month today. In that time I have joined a gym,go there twice a day, started eating right, and taking vitamins. I have lost 30 pounds. Alcohol was dragging me down in a bunch of ways. Keep up the good work!!!
that's awesome news! It does seem like a fog one is living in when drunk. But once sober, that fog is lifted and you can see everything so clearly.
Congrats to jh48 on losing 30lbs and 30 days sober!

I'm constantly amazed at the "little things" that I do now that I'm not drinking. Things like taking your medicine, or cleaning the pots and pans before bed, or closing the open bag of chips so it doesn't get stale. I love those little moments of, "Wow, I didn't used to do this!"
Great to hear about your positive health report. When I was drinking I never cared about the effect alcohol was having on my body. Now I can't believe I was putting myself through unnecessary harm.
