Hi

Hi,

Just signed up here.

Want to get my drinking sorted out, as it's becoming too much of an easy palliative to problems in my life (chiefly physical injury, loss of interest in my work, and lack of relationship success).

I recognise that these problems are complex things that I need to work through, and it's become clear to me that drinking every evening is just an easy way of relieving these pressures.

So I've decided to have a stab at giving it up.

Will let you know how it goes, by posting again soon.

Nick

Welcome,

"Having a stab at" quitting is where most of us started. Depending on how dependent you are on alcohol, that may or may not be enough.

Are you sure the alcohol is just a "palliative" for the problems you mentioned, and not a partial cause of them? I don't know you, so I couldn't say, just a question for you to think about.

Hmm...
all my fun bottles were empty when I headed for sobriety
Sounds as though that is true for you as well.

Glad to know you are seeking a better sober future.
Welcome.....
