Handy, HUGE Congratulations on your year +!!!!!!!!!!

I totally agree that early sobriety is difficult....and I agree that it is helpful to know what to expect. Personally, I think one needs to be prepared for a rough time while the body, mind and spirit heals. I also agree, that around the 6 month mark, one starts to see the vast benefits of sobriety: improved health, self esteem, outlook on life.....But one needs to slog through many days and nights to get to that point. Obviously, I can only speak to my own experience. We alkies are quick fix people, and I know that I gave in many, many times b/c the immediate situation didn't meet my expectations. So, I thought: **** this and I would be back to square one. But if you keep pushing that ball uphill, for all your worth, suddenly you're at the summit and the sun breaks through the clouds.

Congratulations again and also for a great post!
