Happy Birthday Sober Recovery
When I accidentally stumbled into SR almost 9 years ago, I had no idea the profound affect this site would have on my life.
It was a dark time for me, back then, and it was about to get darker. I had friends here to walk with me through those dark days, I had support 24 hours a day so my nights of insomnia and fear were made easier knowing I could log on and connect with people who understood and cared. And I met friends here who made me laugh...something I had not done in a very long time.
I honestly believe that my face to face meetings and SR saved my life.
I will always be grateful to the founder, a recovering addict named Jon who had an idea, a dream and a computer and created what became the best recovery site on the internet. I am grateful to the Mulligan Group who keeps this ship afloat today and who provide for the enormous growth we see each month.
Most of all I will always be grateful to the members here, those who went before me, those who have walked with me through good days and bad, and to every newcomer who walks in the door and reminds me of where I came from, how far I have come and who brings hope for my days ahead.
I love my friends here, who know me better than most of my "live" friends offsite, and I am grateful to celebrate another wonderful year of growth here at SR.
Happy Birthday, SoberRecovery, thank you for my life.

Just as a happy sidenote...Pony, who began this thread may very well be the member here of longest active standing (I really hate the word "old", lol).
She was here when I got off the bus and she has walked with me the entire time I have been here.
Love you Pony, and am honoured to call you my friend.

Thank you to SR, thank you to all that have made it available for me...it has helped me already and I know that it will continue to do so. Thank you to all of the members who have stuck it out here so that we newbies would have somebody to talk to and get GREAT and wonderful advice and encouragment from.

Happy Birthday SR and thank you for the gift of sobriety you've given this Mom, Wife, and now happily living sober person. It is SR that has kept me sober and is now part of my day every day. It doesn't feel like a complete day until I come to SR and do my daily gratitude. The people I have met here have really become family to me. I don't have words to express my gratitude to the people that make this place possible. Love SR and love everyone here. xxx
Happy B-Day SR!
Have you any clue as to the number of people you've helped recover from the "trenches"?
This is truly a special place and I'm so thankful I found this place just a few weeks ago!

SR is my family
Thank you Pony for starting this thread and bringing it to our attention. Thank you for being a part of the SR family!
Thank you SR family for being here everyday, 24/7.
My life is now filled with hope, love and serenity because I found the support and strength I needed here at SR.

Thank you all!
Thank you SR and all who have made my last 80 days fly by! This place really helped me keep sobriety in the front of my mind, and I truly feel it has had a major impact on my recovery. I won't say I would still be drinking if I didn't find SR, but I know for fact that it is the place I come for support and to strengthen my resolve!
Me and my family thank you from the bottoms of our collective hearts!!
Happy Birthday!! Looking forward to 10 more sober years!!
