Getting sense of humor back

Great post, Tex.......... I don't think I realized how little laughter I had in my life the last year or two of drinking. I was living on surface emotions (had to make sure everyone thought I was OK, ya know?)
One of the first wonderful things that happened to me in sobriety was waking up (at about day 3), and as I was lying there in bed just relishing the fact that I had no hangover, I smiled uncontrollably......... and I felt that smile down to my toes, like joy coming from the inside. I'll never forget it.
