Screaming?
I've been sober for 10 days now. But, you know when you are thinking to yourself, in your head, and you can hear your own voice? Usually, mine is just talking or even whispering. But, since I quit drinking, it tends to be this screaming, like I am yelling everything to myself. Is this normal? Am I losing it? Has anything like this happened to anyone else?
Yes, for sure.
The thing is, alcoholism is relentless. Once the disease gets the idea that you are done and finished, it does scream. It rages a war in your mind because it doesn't want to lose. You can acknowledge the voice, recognize it for what it is, and dismiss it.
Congratulations on your 10 days sober!

My alcoholic voice used to 'scream' at me to have a drink or ten,but I've never noticed that my 'inner voice' seemed to be screaming. I don't know what to tell you as I have no experience in this situation. Whatever you do, don't let this screaming inner voice scream you into drinking.
