Good luck with your travels. Hope that guy that makes you drink doesn't find you at your new place! (Sounds to me like the REAL work starts on the 25th.)

Word of caution: the problem is not the geography--it is you. Wherever you go, your disease is going to travel with you. Drugs and alcy are everywhere. Even if you have trouble getting your drug of choice wherever you are moving to, watch out for picking up new ones. Sounds like your motives are in the right place and I wish you luck, just heard so many stories about people moving as a way to 'solve' their disease only to have it bite their heads off. Work a strong recovery program and you can be sober anywhere. Stick around here too.

Hi and Welcome!

I hope you have talked to your before if you are planning to stop drinking. Detoxing from alcohol can be very dangerous.

I wish you well with your recovery and your new start.

welcome to SR mate

I agree with Anna - I hope you've bought a Dr in on this - regardless of the drug it's always a good idea.

Keep posting - are you moving north or west?

I know it's not alcohol but I think the advice is still sound anyway, Micko.

Dude
you can do it, i have- and i have been in the dumps before believe me. change your routine in every way possible, drive different routes, every thing in your life- at least that work(ed) for me. however you have to wake up and say to yourself i will enjoy life and be sober today- before you get out of bed is my advice..... I am working hard too my man but not there. Hang in there.
Peace and Love
