How come you don't drink anymore?
In the recent months, I've run into some health problems. Some probably not too serious, and some I hope aren't...but I don't know. I'm not looking for sympathy, but this has caused me to appreciate my 5 + years of sobriety even more lately.
Every few years, I like to repost the story in the original post from this Thread. I posted it just over 5 years ago. It meant so much to me early in my sobriety, and I think of it often. I thought I would just bump it instead. If you have time, go to the original post and read it.
I hope those that have found sobriety are enjoying it, and those that are trying to find it will soon grasp it.

Loved the post. Yesterday I was reiterating my sleep problem to a friend......he suggested i switch from beer and drink a couple vodka drinks before bed.......I said WHAT! I said no......I don't want to drink ......he kept trying to convince me the vodka would work.
Those are a lot of reasons not to drink.....all on one page.
Btw I didn't drink.....I finally slept almost 12 hours and then picked up another 3.

my addiction tried to rob me of a healthy,
happy life I have lived and earned with the
help of a family intervention, being taught
lots of important, useful, helpful knowledge
about my addiction to alcohol and given a program
of recovery consisting of steps and principles
to incorporate in all my affairs to live a day at
a time without trying to numb or kill myself.
Today, I continue to use all that important
recovery information in my life to remain
sober and enjoy that rewards and gifts of
the PROMISES as written in the BB of AA.
Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous.
This is my ESH - experience, Strength and Hopes
I am grateful to share with other members in recovery.
